Since then, most of my week has been a constant balance—juggling two jobs, school runs, cooking (sometimes), cleaning, getting to the gym if I’m lucky, and above all, trying to hold it all together.

At the best of times, it’s exhausting, messy, stressful, and emotional. And even after all of that, there’s no real pause—just a reset, and then we go again the next day.

What makes it even harder is how rare this situation still is. When the responsibility falls primarily on the father, it can feel like society doesn’t quite know where to place you.

There are the judgements. The awkward questions. The sympathy—as if everything has gone wrong to end up here. And the assumptions.

It’s not the “typical” scenario, and because of that, many of the systems around you—workplaces, social circles, even support services—aren’t always built with dads like us in mind.

I started Guiding Dad because I didn’t see many people in my position.

A lot of what I’ve learned has come through lived experience, along with a deep sense of responsibility and determination to positively shape my daughter’s growth and development.

Along the way, sacrifices have had to be made. Friendships change. Your social life shrinks. Career plans get delayed. And that gym routine might drop from five days a week to three—while the weight somehow still creeps up.

But this isn’t about having all the answers.

Guiding Dad exists because I want other dads to know this:

If you’re tired…
If it feels like your life has been turned upside down…
If you’re questioning whether you can actually do this…

You’re not alone. And it’s not impossible.

This space is also for me—because I’m still learning. Still adapting. Still figuring out how to be the dad my child needs in real time.

So if my journey can give you even a bit of hope, a new idea to try, or simply the feeling that someone else understands—then this space is doing exactly what it’s meant to do.

This blog is my way of turning all of that into something useful.
